Split

Split

The only Roman emperor that voluntarily left his throne was emperor Diokletianus and exactly he, in 3 ct. AD, built the palace where today stands the city of Split. East and west wall of the palace are 216 m long, on the south 181 m and north 175 m. The visitors of Split will be impressed by the architecture from this period. “The most beautiful city on the Mediterranean”- for decades this city was so described by its visitors who are always impressed by the old town which looks like the background for the historical movie.
