Dubrovnik

Dubrovnik

Huge sturdy stone walls enclose Dubrovnik’s historic centre and it is possible to walk along them to enjoy the best views of the “Pearl of the Adriatic” and the surrounding lush green islands. Dubrovnik’s Baroque churches, monasteries and palaces; its Renaissance fountains and facades, are all intertwined with gleaming wide marble-paved squares, steep cobbled streets and houses, all of which have also remained unchanged for centuries. Dubrovnik has been a prominent Game of Thrones filming location since Season 2, as King’s Landing, the capital of the Seven Kingdoms. Also, the Old Pharmacy in Franciscan Monastery in Dubrovnik is one among the oldest pharmacies in Europe. It was founded in 1317 as an in-house pharmacy for Franciscan friars which was later introduced to the public servicing the whole Town’s population and even beyond the town’s walls.
